Social security system

If you’re under 28, you can be covered by student social security, no matter your nationality. You will register for social security at the same time as your school enrollment. 
If you’re more than 28 years old, you must either take out insurance with a private insurance company, or get in touch with the social security center from where you live and ask for the Couverture Maladie Universelle (CMU).
Foreign non-European Union students who have a long-stay visa and who must have a medical check-up can have it done for free at the International Migrations office (OMI), located 7 rue Quivogne, Lyon 2ème. Contact : 04 72 77 15 40.

On the science campus, the nurse’s office is located at the South -1 level ; it’s open from Monday to Friday starting at 8:30 am. A doctor (Dr Bussière) is on duty every Wednesday and Thursday afternoons.
